Full Job Announcement
The Director of Marketing and Communications at the Richland Academy of the Arts (RAA) is responsible for the strategy, development, and execution of marketing and communications on all platforms (i.e., local and national news outlets on radio, TV, print media, billboards, and social media). The individual will also maintain the website using WordPress. The professional will work closely with the leadership group and join an enthusiastic team of arts educators/advocates.
The RAA exists to provide quality educational experiences in the arts and offers instruction in dance, music, visual arts, theatre, and martial arts. Learning opportunities at the RAA include more than eight thousand classes annually, many events and performances provided to our 1400+ students, community programs/partnerships, public workshops, public masterclasses, and summer camps. The RAA’s mission “...is to foster, through artistic expression, the creative potential that exists in everyone to enrich the lives of our neighbors, our community, and the world at large.”
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
Five or more years of experience working on or with a marketing and communications team is preferred.
Experience working in a non-profit environment or any combination of education and experience that would suggest an equivalent background.
The ideal candidate should possess the following abilities:
Ability to communicate the mission and vision of the RAA arts education programs to a diverse external audience using all platforms (i.e., local and national news outlets on radio, TV, print media, billboards, and social media).
Ability to maintain and update the RAA website using WordPress
Ability to design marketing and communication materials using a variety of software programs

Ability to write confidently in a variety of styles or for a variety of audiences
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Ability to build relationships with staff/faculty colleagues and outside media partners in Richland County, Ohio, as well as negotiate marketing contracts with local providers
Ability to assist in grant writing for special projects, annual funding events, as well as onsite community events
Ability to develop music, dance, theatre, visual arts, martial arts programs, event flyers, and informational pamphlets, our RAA Newsletter, along with taking photographs/videos for marketing purposes
Ability to attend weekly staff meetings

Work Location
In-person work is preferred. Some remote work is negotiable.
Physical Requirements
The ability to lift/transport and move small boxes/RAA banners and or marketing materials
Some travel will be required to meet with community members and organizations in Mansfield, Ohio
